TITLE: Elementary Title I Facilitator

REPORTS TO: Building Administrator(s)

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Day-to-Day

Pay: $150 per day + Individual Benefits

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required; Degree in Education preferred.
  2. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in working with and supporting children.
  3. Demonstrate aptitude, competence, and professional judgment for all assigned administrative and student-support responsibilities.

JOB GOAL:

To assist the building administration by working with individual students or small groups to support academic growth, promote positive social-emotional self-regulation, and facilitate a designated safe space for students needing a brief classroom break to reset.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Facilitate a dedicated cool-down and reflection space under administrative direction, providing a calm, structured environment for students who require a temporary break from the classroom to regulate their emotions and behaviors.
  2. Guide students through reflective and restorative practices, de-escalation strategies, and self-regulation techniques to help them process challenges and successfully transition back to academic instruction.
  3. Work with students in language arts and/or math skills not mastered in the classroom as designated by administration.
  4. Work with students one-to-one or in small groups to reinforce basic skills.
  5. Complete paperwork and maintain accurate records regarding student progress, reflection space visits, and behavioral observations for administrative review.
  6. Help administer, score, and record achievement and diagnostic tests as assigned by building administration.
  7. Provide timely updates to building administration regarding student reflection time, behavioral trends, and individual student needs.
  8. Help students master instructional materials and specialized equipment.
  9. Assist, under administrative direction, with the supervision of students during drills, assemblies, play periods, field trips, bus duty, and hall or lunch duty.
  10. Read to students, listen to students read, and participate in other forms of supportive oral communication with students.
  11. Alert building administration immediately to any significant behavioral concerns, emerging patterns, or critical information regarding an individual student.
  12. Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality regarding student information as expected of fully certified educators.
  13. Participate in relevant training and professional development related to de-escalation, behavior management, PBIS/MTSS, restorative practices, student regulation, and other areas relevant to the position. 
  14. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities as the building administrator(s) may assign.
